At the end of 2021, Tim Roggeman got in touch with SANGOO. As an independent Program Manager, he was looking for an organisation that could help with the change management element of a digital transformation project for a customer. The aim of the transformation project was for all of the companies in the group to start using a new, uniform software platform. Guidance was needed to generate bottom-up support for a top-down decision.

Tim enthusiastically shares his view of the collaboration with SANGOO.

What challenges was your customer facing?

The group consisted of a dozen organically grown companies that were using different software packages. At a certain point, management decided to switch to a new, uniform platform.

It was my job to map out the current situation and define the opportunities. For the project’s technical solution, we engaged an external software integrator. It soon became clear that the change process was going to be tough and that buy-in was often lacking. That’s why we also decided to engage an external party for the human aspects of the digital transformation. After all, the objective view of external people also broadens the internal view.

Why did you choose SANGOO?

A colleague had worked with Els in the past. Based on his recommendation, we planned an introductory meeting. Els and Stefaan quickly formed a picture of the requirements. At the same time, what they were offering was extremely compelling. They have in-depth knowledge of methodologies and are flexible when it comes to the implementation of the change. As an organisation, it’s you who decides how involved they are. We decided to draw up a plan of approach entirely together with them. After that phase, two internal employees would implement the solution operationally.

What expectations did you have for this programme with SANGOO?

As an organisation, we expected Els and Stefaan to provide a solution to the change issue to facilitate how well the transformation would be received. We had the technical side covered. Now it was important to get all employees on board. SANGOO’s task was to help us generate bottom-up support for a top-down decision.

Based on the detailed, transparent briefing about my customer, the context, management, project and all stakeholders, I created the framework in which Els and Stefaan applied their expertise. That input formed the basis for the productive collaboration that my customer looks back on.

As a Program Manager, I saw SANGOO as an objective, competent ally in the sensitive topic of change management. Thanks to Els and Stefaan, management became aware of the need for guidance.

From there, the change concept and the onboarding of all stakeholders grew.

The second strength – and a critical factor in our decision – is their flexibility. Els and Stefaan don’t work with standard packages. Each programme is tailored to the customer. Focused on specific problems and needs.

Did SANGOO achieve the desired result?

Absolutely. After four months of intensive collaboration, the internal team was ready to take over and put the plan into action. If needed, they can always fall back on the advice of Els and Stefaan.
